On Friday, October 26th, a group of second class students participated in a creative writing workshop at the University of Gdansk. During four hours we got to learn the arcana of  good writing. Guided by some passages from Atwood’s, Hemingway’s and Franzen’s novels, we passed through the most important elements – from structure and narrative to believable dialogues, characters and the inclusion of all senses. Each part consisted of a short lecture and an exercise – we created our own schemes, descriptions of physical appearance and finally some short pieces of writing. The classes turned out to be truly engaging – we had a chance to use our imagination and were stimulated to look at the English language from a new perspective.
